Cultivating concern for others and extending help to them is at the core of our mission. The time and expertise Volunteers give to NSJI is generous and unconditional.
Without our Volunteers, NSJI would not exist. NSJI organizes the voluntary energy of Johns and Wadmalaw Islands and Red Top churches to achieve together what we cannot achieve separately. IN the story about the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37, Jesus asks “Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” [The Lawyer] said, “The one who showed him mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
When NSJI mobilizes church Volunteers – who are the Body of Christ – we are doing what Jesus calls us to do. Love God entirely and love every one who crosses your path just as you love yourself.
Here are the volunteer opportunities within NSJI:
- Database Management
- Space & Systems
- Volunteer Development & Training
- Communications and History
- Outreach & Recruitment
- Samaritan Mentor (Intake & Plan Development)
- Lazarus Mentor (Plan Implementation)
- Administration & IT
